Edwin Valero Wins WBC Lightweight Title through 2nd Round Knock out Victory over Antonio Pitalua

Venezuela boxer Edwin Valero has clinched the vacated WBC lightweight title with a knock-out victory over Columbian boxer Antonio Pitalua yesterday. This was the first fight of Valero in America, and with this victory, the 27-year-old knock-out star has kept his undefeated professional record intact. Pitalua could stand up against Valero well as he was technically knocked out in the second round of the match.

Edwin Valero has a remarkable professional record with 25 knock out wins in 25 bouts. 39-year-old Pitalua went into the game with a view to putting an end to Valero’s undefeated record in professional boxing, but Valero appeared with his top form and his punches were proven too hard for Pitalua to resist. With this defeat, Pitalua’s fell down to 46 wins and 4 defeats. Valero has now set his sight on WBA lightweight title which is currently held by Juan Manuel Marquez. He is even ready to move up a category to fight against Manny Pacquiao or Ricky Hatton.
