Manny Pacquiao to Take up the Place of Oscar De La Hoya?

You already know that Oscar De La Hoya has recently announced his retirement from professional boxing following a string of poor run inside the ring. However, it is now a big question who is going to take Oscar De La Hoya’s place in world boxing.

Oscar De La Hoya was considered to be one of the world’s most popular boxers of his time and he was undoubtedly one of the leading pound-for-pound boxers of 90’s. Oscar De La Hoya has won 10 world titles in six different categories during his illustrious career. Now, it seems that the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao could be the man to fill up the void in world boxing.

Manny Pacquiao has already won four world titles in four different weight categories. He formerly held WBC lightweight, WBC super featherweight, IBF super bantamweight and WBC flyweight titles, alongside featherweight and super featherweight titles of Ring Magazine. In fact, Pacquiao is currently Ring Magazine’s no. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. So, there is no doubt, Manny Pacquiao is most likely to take up the place of Oscar De La Hoya in world boxing.
