The famous boxer was suffering from paralysis since 2001 fight against Dale Crowe during which he sustained a severe injury in his head in the 10th round. The blow was enough to confine him within a wheelchair till his death. Family members said that there were no oxygen or medical staff at the venue and it took a long time before Page received medial treatment after receiving the blow. His family later accused fight promoter, the owners of the venue, ringside physician Dr. Manuel Mediodia Jr. and Kentucky Athletic Commission, and eventually filed a lawsuit against them.
