Manny Pacquiao Knocked out Ricky Hatton to Win IBO Light Welterweight Title

Manny Pacquiao clinched the IBO light welterweight title on Sunday as the Filipino no. 1 pound-for-pound boxer handed Ricky Hatton a shocking knock out defeat. The fight, which was widely considered to be “The Battle of East and West,” lasted only 5 minutes ad 59 seconds. It was during the second round when Pacquiao flashed a heavy left hook on Hatton’s jaw, leaving the British boxer unconscious for several minutes. That was the abrupt end of a highly-anticipated fight.

With this victory, Manny Pacquiao has now won record four consecutive fights in four different weight classes. No doubt, Manny Pacquiao has once again proven that he is currently the best boxer in the world and there should not be any question regarding his pound-for-pound status.

I think Manny would be more aptly described as the very soon to be dethroned pound-for-pound champ since Floyd Mayweather Jr. is stepping back into the ring.
