Paul Williams Defeated Winky Wright

Paul Williams outclassed Winky Wright in a 12-round fight last Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas with 120-108 and 119-109 twice unanimous decision. Former WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams dominated throughout the match, while his opponent, former IBF light middleweight champion Winky Wright was in his shadow. 37-year-old Wright was not at his best in the match, and thus, making the task easier for Paul Williams who went over Winky, flushing loads of punches with his both hands. Winky Wright tried to come back in the middle rounds, but all his resistance broke down against Williams fighting aggressively.


With this victory, Paul Williams’ professional record reached at 37 wins including 27 knock-outs and 1 loss, while Winky Wright, who returned to the ring after 2 years of suspension, saw his professional career recode going down to 51 wins including 25 knock-outs, 5 defeats and a draw.
